Old Soul mirrors
My background

I was born in one of the most culturally diverse countries; Suriname where for well over a century Hindustani, Javanese, Amerindian, Chinese, black, white and mixed people have lived. Unsurprisingly, as a result, I descended from people of varied ancestry.
To top it off, I am an old soul, interested in worldwide cultures. The ancient past as well as the distant future fascinates me as does the prospect of other lifeforms in the universe and beyond as well as higher dimensions. What triggers me is finding a common Universal symbolic language.
Mirroring my background and interests, I also make eclectic creations by combining art styles and movements as well as media and materials.
As far as being influenced though, it’s actually the opposite. I like to draw inspiration from within. Through intuition as opposed to through external influences. Of course, I get influenced like all of us but look inside for inspiration. I create from inner awareness: the art I would like to see in the world but does not really exist yet, quite the way I envision it. This way I create art close to myself and my vision. Visionary art that portrays a broad vision of awareness, often with spiritual or mystical themes.
As a result, I create eclectic art: Mirrors for old souls, allowing them to look at the imagery for extended periods while possibly gaining different insights or reaching varied conclusions each time, like with a movie or book.

A photo of my grandmother (wearing a white blouse, on the right side) on my mother's side of the family with her half Chinese , half Portuguees Jewish father and her half black, half Native Indian mother and her siblings. Interestingly, she looks more Chinese than her father who is half Chinese. Due to the diverse influences of the parents, many of the siblings look completely different showing their diverse backgrounds.
